Arram Consultants at the Startup Smart Agrifood Summit 2019.

Last 20^th and 21^st June the ARRAM CONSULTORES team took part in the Startup Smart Agrifood Summit held at the FYCMA in Malaga. The second edition of a fair promoted by the European Union in search of the development of innovation ecosystems in the European food chain. One of the biggest events on innovation and entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector.

We presented the digital transformation of an oil mill, obtained through Laser Scanning (point cloud); an example of the possible application of this technology in the agri-food industry. The information obtained allows us to take a virtual tour of the industry, in this case the Cooperativa del Campo San Pedro (Guareña, Badajoz), thus reflecting the advances that are taking place and to which we must adapt in order to continue in an increasingly digital world.

The use of this technology allows the creation of a digital industry platform, a "digital twin", both for the construction phase and for an existing industry, on which to place databases (PDF, alarms, sensors, etc.) that facilitate production and maintenance operations (corrective, preventive and predictive). It can also be used to train personnel in order to introduce a new production line prior to its start-up. Similarly, it can be used for safety at work, marking the steps to be taken by an operator digitally before tackling an operation. All of this will benefit the company, reducing its costs and therefore improving its competitiveness.

In the near future, the development of apps will allow us to simulate the behaviour of installations (electrical, water, compressed air, refrigeration) in the event of possible changes, modifications or extensions to the industry, obtaining reliable information and facilitating decision-making on how to deal with this investment in an optimal manner and in the shortest possible time.

If we want to move into the future and remain competitive and stand out in a market where advances are happening every day and at breakneck speed, digital transformation is the only way forward.
